Romanza ReviewThis 2005 release is important for the seven original Liona Boyd compositions it contains. Our favorites on this disc are:
1. Her sweet, trilling "Danza de las Mariposas de Mexico" (Dance of the Mexican Butterflies), a perfect picture of butterflies fluttering in sunlight, and
2. Her delicate "Cancion para mi madre" (Song for My Mother), which can only be described as a most tender lullaby with her trademark resonant harmonics.
Along the classics on this album is another exceptional rendition of the RECUERDoS DE A ALHAMBRA - no matter how many times Boyd releases another performance of this piece, she just never wears it thin! This is one piece that requires the artist to combine a great romantic heart and flawless delivery, and this is one ability in which Boyd excels. There is not a single Boyd album that we ever regretted buying, right from the beginning of her recording career.
