Guitar Blues ReviewNo it may not sound like B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Delbert McClinton, John Lee Hooker or even Eric Clapton. And, no it may not sound a whole lot like early Leon Russell. But, all of this begs the question(s) why would Leon want to do and why would you want to buy more of what has already been done?
Technically, this IS the blues. As a listening experience it is fabulous. This CD has never been put away since I bought it, and the longer I have it the more frequently it gets played.
Also - a note to musicians - this is a FUN album to play along with! Sure, I listen to it, but I often grab a guitar or bass and jam along.
Leon deserves all the five stars he gets on this.Guitar Blues Overview
