ON ReviewIt is indeed a rarity that I discover music of this caliber and integrity. On this CD, there are no "filler" tracks. All the songs stand on their own, and they sound great! I have seen Joi Veer play live, and this first collection of his works is a tribute to his conviction as a songwriter, vocalist and performer. I have heard a few of his songs on some of the radio stations in the NY/NJ area that have been spinning "ON", and I can see why they've taken to it. If ever there was an artist who wrote profound lyrics and engaging melodies that are naturals for film soundtrack or TV, it is he. I am both anxious and interested to see if he further develops some of the World Beat flavors he employs on some of the tracks...but he can rock like an avalanche too. I think it's really worth checking out and a great addition to any music lovers collection.ON OverviewARTIST PROFILEIt is the song that drives this artist.Never bound by "formula”, Joi's style has exploded through his gravitation to the guitar as his main songwriting tool.His drumming background has given him a keen awareness of rhythm and percussion that bubbles beneath his signature vocals delivering waves of fluid melody.There is a splash of"world beat” flavor countering and fusing the ever-present rock electric and acoustic guitars.The human experience is his most fascinating palette.The interaction and perspective of people are the substance of his lyrics which are woven through the fabric of infectious melodies.Whethera simple statement of emotion or a testimonial to Joi's life experiences, the result is a brutally honest song written and delivered with conviction as an extension of himself.Joi constantly dares and redefines his artistic license.His songs are conceptually, lyrically and musically engaging in their dynamics.
