Early Victor Recordings ReviewThese recordings made by Jascha Heifetz at ages 16 and 17, between November 9, 1917, and November 4, 1918, clearly presage the long and wonderful concert career that was to follow. While the sound is certainly not up to modern standards, it is quite good, considering that the recordings are over 80 years old. Except for one or two where there is considerable surface noise (apparently having been taken off 78 rpm recordings), listening to this CD is not as daunting as one might expect.
